The biggest dredging operations in Quequen (Necochea) port history has begun..
On April 15th at 0600 hrs LT, the trailing suction hopperdredger KAISHUU owned by Jan De Nul, has arrived to the local port in order to commence with the (long awaited) works of 50-feet deepening, necessary to attend the increasing port demands.
The deepening dredging works will allow the port to reduce the waiting times, to optimize processes and minimize costs.
The port deepening will directly lead to a reduction in port costs and enhance the economic position of the port in a tremendously way, since it will be able to operate more and larger cargoes, having an imminent impact on direct and indirect employment.
We will keep you closely posted about the evolution of this big project, which would take at least 2 months.
