As a series of programmed protests and strikes, please kindly note herebelow the schedule of mentioned strikes and who are calling them by:
June 20th (Wednesday):
National Holiday - National Flag Day
June 25th (Monday):
Nationwide General Strike, called by the General Workers Union.
It will affect all activities, from transport to Public Administration as well as stevedores and boat services.
June 25th, 26th & 27th (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday):
Trucks Drivers Strike, called by the Trucks Drivers Union.
It will affect the cargo transport.
June 27th (Wednesday)
Public Employee Day - Administrative Holiday
It will affect the Public Administration. SENASA & Custom House won't work, but by ordering overtime at 100 %
June 28th & 29th (Thursday & Friday)
Customs Workers Strike, called by Customs Workers Union.
It will affect the whole operations by denying the ordering of overtime, working in normal time only.
July 05th & 06th (Thursday & Friday)
Customs Workers Strike, called by Customs Workers Union.
It will affect the whole operations by denying the ordering of overtime, working in normal time only.
Of course, the General Strike as well the Trucks Drivers strike, will mainly affect the Terminals' operations since they won't receive cargoes for storing and loading.
It is expected that National Government will call for a Mandatory Conciliation (especially to Customs Workers), but there is nothing confirmed in this sense.
We'll keep you closely posted and updated about the scenarios and how the situation develops.
