Please kindly note that, on next June 01st (Friday), the Quequen Port Administration and Messrs Jan De Nul will sign the deepening of Quequen Port to 50 feet.
This is the biggest dredging operations in Quequen Port's history and would maintain the necessary capacity to service the increasing port demands.
The deepening works expect to be ready over the end of next March 2019, the intention would be to load vessels at 44 ft or even more, depending on the tide range at loading completion.
Schedule would be as follows:
The Port will face a limitation alongside the berths, since all terminals are resting on the old piles.
The Terminals accompanying this work of such importance for the Port, will be studying how to solve this limitation, either through ne w piles or modifying the loading arms.
On the other side, this deepening will bring an improvement to the port restrictions which still exist and port closures, which nowadays are almost null.
We hope that, once the deepening is completed; the Quequen Coast Guard, based on the improvement, will review and change the present restrictions on account of the height of swell.
We'll keep you closely posted.
