As you may recall, due to the narrowing of Martín García channel at some critical points, maximum sailing draft from Nueva Palmira port was reduced on June 26th to 9.45 mts (31 ft.).
On July 24th recommended sailing draft by Uruguayan pilots was further restricted to 9.15 mts (31 ft.) to avoid bigger delays.
Yesterday September 20th Uruguayan authorities (Pilotage section of Uruguayan Coast Guard) announced that said restriction is now lifted after dredging works, being REMAGA standards valid again.
The same is 9.75 meters (for the ships of design) considering an average river water level of abt 60 cms to comply with the compulsory 2 feet of UKC.
