This Monday July 24th Uruguayan pilot companies announced the following regarding sailing from Nueva Palmira port through Martin Garcia channel:
1.- Maximum recommended sailing draft is 30 ft. / 9.15 mts
2.- Maximum possible sailing draft is stil 31 ft. / 9.45 mts with delays to guarantee safe passage with at least 2ft UKC.
3.- This restrictions are not due to loss of depth, but because the channel needs widening at some critical points.
