The working rate of dredger that operates at Diamante port, makes possible to predict that, in 14 days from now, the sailing draft will reach the intended milestone of 27 feet, allowing the entrance of overseas vessels.
This is major task undertaken by the provincial government and Cargill and also contemplates the maintenance of channel draft for next five years.
The provincial Minister of Production, Carlos Schepens, said "... we are watching the dredger working in which will be the most important port of Entre Rios province along the Parana River.
A port with a capacity of 75.000 Mt storage for grain collection, five discharging docks, dryers, two very important companies, Cargill and The Crespo's Regional Farming (La Agricola Regional de Crespo, in spanish) which they are going to operate in the private sector".
He also pointed out the synergy between Public Administration and private sector: local stock market, Cooperatives, Cargill, etc.
"Another important item", he said, " is the fact that we have the 5-years-commitment maintenance, which it will help the companies to foreseen when and how they will load their products."
