We are pleased to confirm you what we had previously scooped and informed related to the subject.
As from March 01st, 2017, the determination to remove SENASA surveyors from the cargo holds inspections for grain and byproducts cargoes, will enter in force.
SENASA will continue to issue the required phyto sanitary certificates, but inspection itself will be carried out by surveyors of private companies.
There will be audits over private companies to ensure the service quality and detect and avoid corruption cases in case some arises.
If SENASA audits detect that some cargo hold has been incorrectly approved or rejected, penalties will be applied to the Control company and same can range as from the acting surveyor suspension, to the company's going down of Authorized Companies Official List.
There will be an Official Surveyors Registry and Log, containing personal file and history.
This is a National measure and for a test period of 12 months, since this is a Resolution that overrules an actual law, and with the intention to asset and evaluate the outcomes in order to finally approve it and establish it.
We'll keep you posted and let you know about the developments.
