Aceitera General Deheza (AGD) steps forward with its about U$S 140 million investments plan in Timbues (San Lorenzo port north area) in order to build a cereal port of its own.
Last May, the first details of the project were advanced by AGD to Mr. Amaro González, mayor of Timbues. The target is to get a port terminal and warehouses for grains and by products storage. The company owns, for some time, some lands purchased in a partnership with Argentinean Cooperatives Association (ACA). These properties are located in the limit with Puerto San Martín city and with straight access to the Parana river. According to first leaking outs, the works would be commenced on the next year's first semester. AGD, jointly with Bunge, owns Terminal 6, which is the most important cereal port faci lities in the country. For its side, ACA is also adding a new terminal unit to the one it already possess at San Lorenzo port. Molinos Río de la Plata and Renova announced investments from their side, as well. Also, brazilian Amaggi will land with one plant of its own. Almost 80% of Argentina harvest is exported from Grand Rosario port area. We'll keep you posted and updated.
