Following our yesterday's Newsletter related to the subject, please kindly note that the scenario of m.v. COFCO 1 is very serious.
The vessel is deeply grounded and totally pushed over the sand.
The Parana river strong current worse the situation.
On May 27th, two tugboats were appointed (BRUTUS & ALBACORA) and on May 28th am, a third one (Tugboat COOPOR 1) joined them.
On May 28th at around 1400 hrs LT, a fourth tugboat (Tugboat COOPOR 2) will arrive to the area for also helping with refloating maneuvers.
The Coast Guard opened the navigation for inbounding vessels in ballast condition up to 7,50 mts draft on May 28th at 0700 hrs LT and with daylight only.
The navigation for outbounding vessels is still closed.
