General Strike at San Lorenzo port

By the firing of over 400 workers and closure of AR ZINC (the sole and only manufacturer of Sulphuric Acid and Electrolytic Zinc in Argentina) factory in Fray Luis Beltran city (near to San Lorenzo), the General Workers Union (CGT) in San Lorenzo has called for a general strike in the area that will affect all activities related with vessel's loading/discharging operations. This strike will start on March 02nd and will be for 24 hours. AR Zinc is a company that belongs to Glencore International Group and they were negotiating to retire some of their employees but Union refused. AR Zinc took the decision to close their factory after "3 years of having suffer heavy losses". We'll keep you posted.
