We're pleased to inform you that today, March 08th, and according to the public bidding performed for the deepening and maintenance of Quequen port for a 6-years period, it will be signed the loans granting by Banks MACRO and BICE, and with company JAN DE NUL.
The works will commence on mid March upon the suction dredger's arrival. The cutting dredger would arrive at the end of March / early April.
The access channel draft will be increased to 50'00".
This means that practically there won't be port closures and the vessels will be able to enter / depart anytime.
However, for the moment, it is unlikely that the sailing draft could be increased further the actual 43'00" since, as per a building issue it won't be possible to deep alongside the docks unless the Terminals carry out very important works.
Nevertheless, this is going to be a milestone in Necochea port.
The works could take about 4 months and the contract considers the draft maintenance at 50'00" during next 6 years.
On the other hand, it has begun the construction of dolphins for the new berth to be built by the PIER DOCE company, who also will build the facilities for fertilizers discharging operations.
We'll keep you closely posted and updated.
