The Chamber of Commercial Private Ports (which associates all loading terminals upriver) has expressed her members’ concern regarding the poor state in which vessels holds arrive at the loading terminals.
The chamber informs that, in order to protect the interests of the loading terminals and those of the factories that supply them, and in an attempt to prioritize the speed and efficiency of the operations, starting Sept 01st, 2018 the terminals and ports associated to the Chamber reserve their right to make null the loading turn upriver to those vessels that, having reached the loading port , either at roads or at berth, do not pass holds inspections or are not allowed to start the loading ops for a period of time such that it would imply a substantial delay to the normal operation of the terminals and their facilities.
Therefore, in the ev ent of a vessel being unable to operate, terminals will request maritime authorities to allow the following vessel in the line up to go to berth. Bearing in mind that this could result in the rejected vessel having to vacate the intended loading port (roads or berth)and having to proceed to some other waiting area, berth or road, or to Zona Comun or to Recalada PS, on the vessel’s/Owner’s own account, the chamber requests involved parties to spread the word to interested parties (Vessels/ owners/ representatives) and to recommend them to arrive at port with holds clean and all respects to receive the intended cargo.
