In view of the Agro-exporting growth perspective, Russia is partnering with the PTP Group to develop a port in Ramallo.
The measures taken by the government in favor of the agricultural sector presage a strong increase of the production.
The goal of 130 million Mt is not far away and the San Martín / San Lorenzo / Rosario ports complex should add new options.
With this scenario, the Russian company Gazprombank, signed a strategic alliance with the PTP Group to build a new terminal in Ramallo port, Buenos Aires province, at Km 332 of the Paraná River.
As a mention, Bunge Terminals (Grain & Fertilizers) are located at Km 330 & 330,40; respectively.
In a first stage it will be able to operate 4 million Mt per year, although the business plan intentions are to double such capacity.
The port will be destinated ;to general cargoes, grains, oilseeds and byproducts..
"The investment in the first stage is just over U$S 90 million over a total project of U$S 186 million", said Guillermo Misiano, president Of PTP.
During the first stage will generate more than 250 jobs and the building period will be 18 months.
Currently, the project has all government licenses and permits and only one administrative formality remains, which once completed, will allow the immediate commencement of construction and subsequent operation.
The new terminal will have 350 meters of berth, possibility of continuous operation of vessels and barges simultaneously and 18 carbon steel tanks built under API 650 standards, with a nominal capacity of 5.000 m3 each.
It will also have a storage capacity of 120.000 Mt, capacity for 30,000 Teus / year, expandable to 90,000 Teus / year with slot plugs for refrigerated, 11.000 mts2 of polyfunctio nal covered storee, 40.000 mts2 for minerals and bulks, MHC cranes, cargo transfer sector, and trucks parking sector.
