Pls note that Amaro Gonzalez, Mayor of Timbues City, home of Timbues Port, announced that there will be two significant industrial investments in the jurisdiction. The investments will be carried out at the same time and, according to the webpage infomaciel.com, u$s 240 Milion will be invested as a first stage. One of the investments will be performed by Aceitera General Deheza, whose top representatives (Roberto and Alberto Urquía) informed Mayor Gonzalez about their intentions to settle in the area. The project consists on building a terminal and storage facilities for grains and byproducts. The initial investment would be around u$s 140 Million. The place chosen to build the facilities would be a plot of land in the limit between Timbues and San Martín, which is already owned jointly by the Company and ACA (Asociación de Cooperativas Argentinas) and which have direct access to the Parana River. The second investment will be carried out by Renova, whose Timbues plant has been operating for several years, with a clear intention to expand their facilities. At a first stage, they will invest u$s 100 Million towards that goal, and u$s 150 Million at a second stage.
Such undertakings will generate around 500 temporary jobs (so needed in the area) between August and September. After the construction of AGD's and Renova's plants, new permanent jobs will be created. With a change in policies at Government level, the agricultural industry sector shows its commitment with the region by investing again in the industry's development. This is something we had not seen in several years.
