Possibility of "no more SENASA" onboard (Still to be confirmed)

Date: 15/02/2017

Please kindly note that there is a rummor circulating, informing that, as from the top government officials, a determination has been placed to remove SENASA surveyors from the cargo holds inspections for grain cargoes and byproducts that require phyto sanitary certificates.

There has been meetings between private survey companies and top officials in order to instrument the procedures to senasa being removed from cargo holds inspections and the private companies would be the ones issuing the phyto certificates.

Senasa surveyors would only inspect the cargo at terminal (silos & cells) but wouldn't go onboard anymore.

We'll have more accurate information next week to see if it is only an intention or, in fact, a new policy to implement this measure into effect.

We'll keep you posted.
