Pls note that San Lorenzo port oilers union just commenced a total strike at Vicentin plants, after the company did not guarantee a payment date for the wages owed. The strike began this Tuesday at both plants and could extend nationwide if the Federation of Oil Workers decides to join in.
The union delegates reported that the hearing with the Ministry of Labor ended without concrete answers, which led to the immediate paralysis of activities at Vicentin.
In the next few hours, the Federation of Workers of the Oil Industrial Complex will evaluate the situation and could call for a national strike that affects all ports and oil plants in the country. If this happens, the impact on the agro-export activity will be immediate, with delays in the loading and unloading of ships and an interruption in the production chain.
We´ll keep monitoring the situation and revert with further updates.
