Pls note that Pilots advised that there is a new max. sailing drafts through Parana Bravo River. The new determinant is located at Km 145,5 of Parana Bravo River where measurements show 8,66 mts at datum (at zero level). Usual water height in that area is around 1 meter. The max. sailing draft under normal circumstances (1,00 Mts water height) would be:8,66 (determinant) + 1,00 (water height) - 0.60 (compulsory under- keel clearance) = 9,06 Mts
The max. sailing draft through that area depends on the water level on the particular date of the sailing, wich for today, for example, is 0,75 Mts with a decreasing trend (actually dropped 60 cm in 20 days). Therefore, today, the max sailing draft could be:
8,66 + 0.75 - 0.60 = 8.81 Mts
However, this measurements are only valid for a short period of time and dependant on weather factors such as winds prevailing in the area and should be checked before sailing from ports north of Nueva Palmira. The critical path is only a couple hours of navigation from Nueva Palmira.

The option of sailing out from Nueva Palmira port through Martin García Channel (under Uruguayan pilots) still exists and the limitations are as follows
